About Our Founder

Megan Carras, PhD, is a seasoned non-profit fundraising leader with over 15 years of experience in fostering transformative change in non-profit management and philanthropy. As the Founder of Carras Capital Consulting, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to help clients navigate the complex landscape of fundraising and sustainability.

Dr. Carras holds a PhD in Geography and Sustainable Development from the University of St Andrews in Scotland, an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London, an MA in Environmental Management from Harvard University, and a BA in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia.

This extensive academic background provides her with a unique perspective on sustainable development and environmental policy, which she leverages to benefit her clients. Throughout her career, Megan has demonstrated proficiency in fundraising, strategic development, research, writing, data analysis, and persuasive communication across diverse audiences. She has consulted for a range of non-profits including Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), environmental, human services, arts and culture, education, and more.
